Need Quick Answer On Mash Time

5 or 10 minutes over wont make any difference. Better to be over to give the grains time to convert.

First Time Carbing A Keg - Leaky Prv

Hi guys, Have just transferred my first kegged beer into my new corny and have tried to force carb it. As soon as I turned the regulator on, the pressure relief valve started leaking with beer coming out of it. Have I filled up the keg too much? Or does the PRV sound rooted? Cheers for your...

    Hatchy Had A James Squires

Yeah that was one horrible beer. I have no experience with smoked beer and am hoping that other smoked beers are much better than that shite.

    Clumping Yeast

Hi guys, I think I may have had a similar problem with my ESB I have fermenting. I pitched the White Labs 'London Dry Yeast' WLP007 on Saturday, and fermentation was good for the first couple of days but the yeast has now settled into a dense layer on the bottom of the fermenter and SG has been...

What Do You Do With Your Used Grains After Mashing?

+1 for feeding the chooks. Two of them get through ~5kg of grain in less than 24 hours - hungry bastards! Cheers

Frozen Beer In Fermenter Whilst Lagering

Hi Mahony, No expert here but what you seem to have done is unintentionally created an Eis beer, an EisOktoberfest if you will. All that you have really done is increase the concentration of alcohol and flavour of your beer. This partial freezing of beer is a method used to create an Eisbock...

First Biab Almost Ready - Hop Help Please

Yeah, I had exactly the same thing happen with the spiral burner on my first BIAB. Usually burns the majority of the paint off the first time, and you hardly notice it on the second brew. Congratulations! Johnny

Final Volume Problem - No Chill

Hey mate, For dilution of your wort to get a certain SG, use the 'water dilution calc' in the tools tab of Brewmate. Plug in the wort volume and gravity, then just keep upping the added water volume until you get your desired gravity. Cheers
