USA Breweries must go to...

Hi all, off to the US in September. LA, San Fran and 3 weeks in Brooklyn NYC.

Are there any "must do" breweries that I should schedule? I have scheduled to visit Anchor in San Fran and spent time at Heartland Brewery, Manhattan a couple of years back. Probably will go to Brooklyn Brewery this time around..

Any advice welcome. ('o_o')

If I were going I'd go to the White Labs tasting room, where they have beers made from the same wort but their different yeasts. Clearest way to get a picture of what a particular yeast brings to the party.

After doing this a few times when overseas, unless theres something particular you want to get out of it (Mardoo's example would be a very good reason), I'd be more inclined to track down good brew pubs rather than visit breweries.
More bang for your buck - and precious traveling time.

Pretty much spoiled for choice in SF.
